Last updated: October 17, 2026

1.Identification

Serika Sensei is the trading name under which Serika Jiménez Cabrera, a self-employed individual (freelancer), provides Japanese language teaching services through this website and associated platforms (collectively, the "Service", the "Platform", or "Serika Sensei"). The provider resides and operates from Japan, delivering the service remotely to students of any country.

2.Purpose

These Terms and Conditions govern access to and use of this website, the private community hosted on Skool, the conversational assistant "Ask Serika", and the enrollment in the program "The Method to Learn Japanese in 90 Days" (the "Program"), as well as any other service, content, or material offered by Serika Sensei.

By accessing the Platform, enrolling in the Program, or using any of the services offered, the student fully accepts these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you must refrain from using the Service.

3.Description of the service

The Program consists of a 90-day individualized Japanese course, delivered through one-to-one video call sessions (Google Meet), complemented by proprietary teaching materials (interactive worksheets, vocabulary, grammar, kanji), access to a private Skool community, personalized homework in PDF format, and access to an automated conversational assistant ("Ask Serika") for questions about the language and Japanese culture.

4.Access, registration, and session booking

Access to the Program requires payment under the conditions agreed upon during the discovery call, and session booking through the enabled scheduling system. The student agrees to provide truthful and up-to-date information.

5.Price, payment, and refunds

The price of the Program is communicated individually before enrollment. Payments are processed through the Stripe payment gateway.

Refund policy. Once payment for the Program has been made, it is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Session cancellation policy. The student books their own sessions through the enabled scheduling system. Any cancellation or rescheduling must be made at least 24 hours before the start of the session. Sessions cancelled or not rescheduled with less than 24 hours' notice, as well as no-shows, will be deducted from the total number of sessions included in the Program.

Monthly class packs. For monthly class packs, any included classes that have not been booked expire one month after the date of the subscription (the start of each billing period). Unbooked classes do not carry over to the following period, and the class count is reset with each renewal.

6.Student obligations

7.Recording of classes

Sessions delivered via Google Meet may be recorded by Serika for pedagogical purposes (allowing the student to review the class), quality control, and Service improvement. By enrolling in the Program, the student expressly consents to such recording. Recordings are the exclusive property of Serika Sensei (see section 18) and are made available to the student solely for personal study purposes; their mass download, publication, distribution, or transfer to third parties is strictly prohibited.

8.Conversational assistant "Ask Serika"

"Ask Serika" is an AI-powered automated system intended solely to answer questions about the Japanese language and culture related to the Program. The student acknowledges and accepts that:

9.Intellectual property and confidentiality

This is fully governed by section 18 of this document, which forms an integral part of these Terms and Conditions.

10.Prohibited conduct

The following is prohibited: using the Platform for unlawful purposes; attempting to breach the security of the site or the Skool community; impersonating another user; using materials or recordings to train third-party artificial intelligence systems; reproducing all or part of the Program for one's own commercial purposes.

11.Limitation of liability

Serika Sensei provides the student with its best pedagogical efforts. Beyond the specific, completion-conditioned outcome described in Section 16, Serika Sensei does not guarantee learning outcomes, as these largely depend on the student's own commitment, dedication, and completion of the Program as designed. Serika Sensei shall not be liable for Service interruptions caused by third parties (hosting providers, Google Meet, Stripe, etc.) nor for indirect damages arising from use of the Service.

12.Account suspension and cancellation

Serika Sensei reserves the right to suspend or cancel access for any student who breaches these Terms and Conditions, without prejudice to any legal action that may apply.

13.Modifications

Serika Sensei may modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Modifications will be published on this same page, indicating the date of the last update. Continued use of the Service after such changes are published constitutes acceptance of them.

14.Governing law and jurisdiction

Pending legal review: Serika resides in Japan but provides the service to students from any country. The common approach for remote digital services is to set the law of the provider's country of residence (Japan) as the governing law, while students who are consumers residing in the EU (or other jurisdictions with mandatory consumer protection) may still rely on the protections of their own country of residence. This clause should be confirmed with a lawyer before publication.

For any questions about these Terms and Conditions: info.serikasensei@gmail.com.

16.Program outcomes and student commitment

Serika Sensei's teaching method is designed for a student who fully completes the Program to be able to hold real conversations in Japanese by the end of the 90 days. This outcome applies specifically to students who: attend all scheduled sessions; complete all assigned modules, exercises, and homework in the order and manner indicated; and follow the guidance provided by Serika and, where applicable, by her mentor throughout the Program. Serika Sensei tracks each student's session attendance and module completion for this purpose.

This outcome does not apply, and Serika Sensei accepts no responsibility for its absence, where the student does not complete the Program as described above — for example, by skipping sessions, failing to complete assigned modules or homework, or disregarding the guidance provided. Results depend directly on the student's own commitment and active participation, as set out in Section 11 (Limitation of Liability).

17.Reviews and public statements

Serika Sensei welcomes honest feedback, including critical feedback, and will never take action against a truthful review or comment made in good faith, whether positive or negative.

However, if a public comment, review, or statement about Serika Sensei, the Program, or its results contains claims that are factually false — for example, falsely stating that no classes, materials, or support were provided, or misrepresenting the price or terms actually agreed — Serika Sensei reserves the right to request its correction or removal from the platform where it was published, and to pursue any legal remedy available under applicable law for the damages actually caused, in accordance with the defamation and consumer-protection laws applicable to the case.

18.Intellectual property of the materials

Ownership. All teaching materials, including without limitation the JLPT interactive worksheets (N5 through N1), SVG diagrams, kanji stroke-order cards, video scripts, texts, class recordings, PDF homework, handwritten notes, content published in the Skool community, responses generated by the "Ask Serika" assistant, and any other content created by or for Serika Sensei, are the exclusive property of Serika Jiménez Cabrera and are protected under applicable intellectual property law, including international copyright treaties.

License granted to the student. Enrollment in the Program grants the student a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, and revocable license to access and use the materials solely for their own study purposes, for as long as their contractual relationship with Serika Sensei lasts. This license does not include the right to reproduce, distribute, publicly communicate, transform, resell, sublicense, or make the materials available to third parties, nor to use them to train artificial intelligence models or systems, under any circumstances.

Class recordings. Recordings of delivered sessions are the exclusive property of Serika Sensei. The student may access them solely for personal review. Their mass download, editing, publication on social media or video platforms, or any form of distribution to third parties is prohibited.

Trademark and trade name. "Serika Sensei" is the trade name under which Serika Jiménez Cabrera operates. Its use, reproduction, or imitation by third parties without prior written authorization is prohibited, including its use in domain names, social media profiles, or third-party promotional materials.

Confidentiality. All information shared during private sessions will be treated confidentially by Serika Sensei. Reciprocally, the student is asked to respect the confidentiality of Serika Sensei's own methods, materials, and teaching content, and to refrain from disclosing, replicating, or using them for purposes other than personal study.

Content generated by the student. The student retains ownership of the content they generate (exercises, questions asked to the assistant, messages). However, they grant Serika Sensei a license to use such content, anonymized where reasonably possible, to improve the Program, develop teaching materials, and validate the progress-tracking system.

Infringements. Breach of this notice may result in immediate suspension of access to the Program, without right to a refund, and any legal action that may apply, including a claim for damages.

Reporting infringements. If you detect unauthorized distribution of Serika Sensei's materials, recordings, or content, you can report it to: info.serikasensei@gmail.com.
